Looking for a new brunch destination? Say no more. We had the chance to check out Lola’s Mexican Cuisine in Long Beach and boy is it a hidden gem! If you haven’t heard of them, they’re a local Mexican restaurant located on 4th street that’s offering a fusion of traditional and contemporary Mexican dishes using quality ingredients.

One of the great things I noticed about Lola’s was the variety of seating they offered. They have outdoor seating in front of their restaurant (if you’d like to people watch), indoor seating, and a private outdoor patio at the back of the restaurant with some unique wall art from local artist Craola. Now let’s talk about the menu! Lola’s recently fixed up their breakfast menu to add some more variety so now it’s even harder to decide what to try. They also offer a variety of alcoholic drinks to start your weekend morning the right way like their traditional Bloody Mary or even a Perfect Ending made from grind espresso rum.  Also, while you’re browsing your menu, don’t forget to chow down on their complimentary chips and salsa. The green sauce is honestly SO ADDICTING and is appropriately nicknamed Crack Sauce.

We tried a variety of dishes upon the servers recommendation such as their Breakfast Tacos, Chilaquiles, and their famous CONCHA BREAKFAST SANDWICH! Stuffed with egg, cheese, and jalapeno infused bacon, the Concha Breakfast Sandwich was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Definitely a MUST TRY if you love Concha’s or even if you like that type of flavor combo. The other items were delicious as well, but in terms of standing out, I’d still suggest the Concha Sandwich for something different.
