Grand Opening: Find Handmade Udon at Meiji Noodles in Lake Forest

If you’re in search for a quality bowl of fresh udon at an affordable price, then look no further than Meiji Noodles in Lake Forest! Formerly known as Mucho Mahalo, the owners have revamped the restaurant to offer a variety of udon, fresh seafood, and rice bowls in addition to their original poke bowls.

Meiji Noodle is a counter service restaurant where you place your order at the counter, find a table, and pick up your order when it’s called. Utensils and sauces are self-serve and when you’re done eating, plates are directed to be placed in a labeled cupboard nearby. I absolutely love the idea of self busing tables since it honestly doesn’t take much effort and it speeds up the wait time for other customers.

When is the Grand Opening?

Meiji Noodles will be Grand Opening on January 18th and 19th. Their hours are from 11:30AM-3:00PM and 5:30PM-8:30PM. The Grand Opening will also feature a handmade noodle demonstration at the front of the store.

Is there a Grand Opening promotion?

The first 50 customers in line will receive 50% OFF one bowl of udon (excluding the seafood bowl). Only the one bowl will be discounted, any extra bowls will be charged regular price.

If you noticed from the menu, the majority of the bowls are all under $10 which makes for a great value considering the portion size and the quality taste. Also note that unless stated, the bowls will not have any additional toppings included; so if you’d like to have a certain meat or veggie in your bowl, you’ll have to add it on when you order. With most of the udon bowls, you’ll also have the option of ordering it regular or spicy.

The new addition to Lake Forest has already seen plenty of positive ratings from local residents who have been bustling in during the lunch hour even before Grand Opening! Although there are a couple tables outside, it does get busy, so come early to beat the crowds. If you do check them out, I’d love to hear which bowl was your favorite in the comments below!
