A Cauldron of Sweets

The Cauldron opened earlier this year in Santa Ana and was a smash hit on the ice cream scene. Similar to Creamistry, the ice cream is hand-made on the spot with liquid nitrogen. The main difference that sets them apart is the Puffle Cone that they serve your ice cream in,their limited menu (with rotating flavors), and the amazing way they form the ice cream (I mean c’mon, look at that Rose.) I opted out of getting the Puffle because a friend of mine tried it first and claimed it just tasted like plain bread. The Rose H20 (which had sugar crystals mixed in) had a very fragrant taste, which I got tired of real quick, and the same friend even said it tasted like, “perfume.”

  • Medium Rose H20 (2 scoops) – $5

As you can see, their Ice Cream is EXTREMELY photogenic and IG worthy. There have been plenty of times, where I will see a picture of someone’s cup in the same position with similar hands and wonder if its mine. In terms of the interior, its very simple. Adequate seating and in a corner where there’s a decent amount of parking spots.

Honestly, I think it’s a hit or miss. Either way, the beautiful presentation can make it worthwhile. If you’re not feeling too sweet that day, I’d recommend sharing the Medium Size with a friend.
