We’re actually pretty glad that the menu wasn’t 10 pages long, because when you’re waking up that late and hungry, ain’t nobody got time to read an essay. Angelina’s lays it flat out with their menu options, offering you the the best options of each type of entree. If it’s too early for you to make decisions, you can opt for the family style Social Brunch where 1 pizza to share, 2 entrees, and one carate of either the mimosa or bellini!

Now onto the food pictures!

The first one is the delicious breakfast pizza baked in their 900 degree wood burning oven using Rustic Almond wood fire! The dough was so soft yet crisp on the edges and the gooey egg on top just made this breakfast pizza a perfect starter to your morning. Simple yet extremely satisfying. You can opt for either sausage, gauncile, or spinach and it comes with a small side salad! Getting those greens in.

The next item we tried was the Insalata di Polipo e Gamberi which is a mix of grilled octopus, Mediterranean shrimp, wild arugula, roasted potatoes, red onions, heirloom tomatoes, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemons. Trust, this tasted just as good as it sounds. Served with complimentary bread, it’s a refreshing salad especially for the recent high temperatures in California.

Talking about refreshing, we also tried the Capesante su Carpaccio di Mango Aria di Lime e Pepperoncino (try saying THAT 5 times quick). Basically, pan seared scallops on a mango carpaccio with vanilla extra virgin olive oil and pepperoncino. Loved the presentation on these scallops which complimented how large and fresh they were! Perfecto.

Overall, although they offer a limited menu, it’s only due to the high quality standards they offer for each dish. Being conveniently located next to the Irvine Spectrum (in the same plaza as Whole Foods) makes it a great brunch stop before you go out shopping for the day. There’s plenty of seating available both inside and out and the restaurant has a very open layout. If you’re not into breakfast or running on a budget, they also offer Happy Hour daily from 9PM – Close!
