Daphne’s California Greek is celebrating their new location in Irvine and I had the pleasure of visiting them to see what Daphne’s is all about! If you haven’t heard of Daphne’s, they specialize in offering Mediterranean food that is both fresh and healthy, with most items being under 700 calories!
What are some of the menu items?
Lemon Chicken Soup
If you love lemon, this soup is the one for you! Made with roasted chicken, rice, herbs, and served with plenty of warm pita breads. This soup definitely has a sour kick to it.
Fried Calamari
Served with a spicy tomato dipping sauce and grilled lemon, the calamari was crispy and only 560 calories.
Mediterranean Fish Plate
Seasonal fish served with lemon, fresh herbs, EVOO, a greek side salad, seasoned basmati rice, and tzatziki sauce with warm pita bread. Personally, although the portion size was pretty large compared to the Surf & Turf plate, the fish was a bit on the drier side; which can be great if you’re looking for a healthy alternative that’s not oily.
Surf & Turf Plate
Grilled shrimp and steak skewers atop their basmati rice with a side of roasted vegetables and served with a side of tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread.
When is the Grand Opening?
Wednesday, June 26th 2019. All guests will receive $2 off an entree ALL DAY long! So you can definitely try any of these dishes and save an extra $2.
In addition to these items on the menu, they offer bowls, Mediterranean salads, pitas, and hummus. Looking to feed more hungry bellies? They also have family feasts and kids meal options.
