Spooky Sweet Treats at Creme and Sugar

Halloween is creeping up on us and what better way to celebrate than with one of the deliciously sweet desserts from Creme and Sugar located in Anaheim!

We had a chance to check them out for the first time today and although it’s located on the on the western outskirts of Anaheim, it was definitely a worthwhile trip. Upon entering, the sweet aroma of cakes will linger in the air as your eyes travel across the room to all the Nightmare Before Christmas theme decorations. It’s a very cozy place filled with plenty of tables to study or relax, a variety of seating arrangements, and dim lighting.

The store’s owner Joanna, learned to bake from her mother as a child and her love for the space can definitely be seen through all the detailed decorations as well as the beautiful  and creative desserts she bakes.

This month they’re celebrating the holiday season by introducing a Nightmare Before Christmas themed dessert selection. They also serve a large selection of teas, coffee, and shakes in case you’re just looking for a refresher. Check out the menu selection below:

The first item we tasted was the Oogie Boogie Sundae. Basically a chocolate brownie topped with cookies n cream ice cream, gummy worms, chocolate syrup, and your selection of purple/green whip cream! Although the ice cream was just like your everyday ice cream, the moist chocolate brownie is what made it 10x better! Filled with little chunks of chocolate it was a perfect compliment to the ice cream and whip cream (I mean how can you go wrong with a combo like that??). Definitely would recommend if you’re looking to satisfy a sweet cravings, plus look at it, its just oozing deliciousness.

Creme and Sugar will be offering plenty of Halloween themed cakes such as Candy Corn, Oogie Boogie, Locks Lavender, and Sally’s Coffin just to name a few. As you can probably guess, that spooky green cake previously seen is the Oogie Boogie Cake. With layers of cookie dough, topped with chocolate ganache, Oreo crumbles, and gummy worms; this cake is sure to please your cookie dreams (I mean, even Oogie Boogie would sweeten up after eating this).

Another popular flavor offered daily is the Lavender Cake as well as other Lavender flavored items such as the Lavender Milk Tea/Lemonade. The great thing about this cake is that the Lavender flavoring is not TOO strong as some other places might be (where it could taste like your licking a bar of soap). Instead, its a very light fragrant taste, just enough for you to be able to enjoy multiple bites (or sips!).

Overall, its a fantastic place to get your sweets fix especially if you love cake. We don’t frequent cake shops too often, but Joanna the owner definitely knows how to satisfy the sweet tooth with all of her creative cakes and desserts. In addition to the desserts they offer on a regular basis, the store offers seasonal items to spice it up every now and then that are definitely worth coming in to check out. They also sell whole cakes in case you’re interested in wowing people at your next holiday party!
